Sharjah Institute of Technology opened in September 2003 under the instruction of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qassimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Institute offers UK based vocational qualifications.
SIT was under the patronage of SEWA from September 2003 until April 2009. Currently it is working under the umbrella of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI). Both SCCI and SIT are committed to developing human capabilities that support sustainable development in Sharjah and the UAE in general. SIT’s programs of study are specifically designed to provide the students with the knowledge and practical skills required to satisfy the needs of the UAE job market
